Today, the moment I stepped into the bandroom...
Rizuan told me that CSS band got a COP for SYF...
I told him that it was actually expected...
Tormimi told me that Nizam felt that way too...
Let me revealed about my feelings towards CSS Band regarding this...
If you have seen the set piece, every single notes is being articulated...
If you have seen their choice piece, not much articulation...
By comparing the standard of both pieces, it was a total big difference...
The standard of the set piece has already tell the band how high the standard of the SYF for this year already is...
Previously, I told quite a few members that standards are higher than before...
Their expressions sometimes tells me that, either they are listening to my words for fun, or they don't put this into heart, or even worse, don't care at all...
Somehow, I can see the seniors(sec 4s and sec 3s) are trying their very best to maintain the band discipline and their playing standard...
But I can see that the younger ones don't seems to care at all...
What irritates me is not the results, but the discipline...
I don't want to name the sections, but the section should know who I am referring to...
People can don't care about warming-up before playing...
When Mr. Lee is talking, sometimes I see no one gives a damn to it, and still can talk...
No one know what Mr. Lee wants...
There still got people ask Mr. Lee, "Mr. Lee, can I don't (Eg. slur, tougue etc) for this part or not?"
Worse still, that person asked Mr. Lee about the set piece...
I can see Mr. Lee is not happy about it...
He replied, "You ask the judge lah, see can or not..."
That's what I felt too...
I mean, come on lah...
Who will go and ask such stupid question?!
Set piece leh...
I don't know what to look forward to already...
Somehow, I really want to give the band a scolding...
But seriously, what has happened, has already happened...
I can't say anything much...
Let bygones be bygones...
I just want the band to be well-disciplined...
I'm sure that's what the other seniors want too...
It's not up to the directors/instructors, it's also not up to the teachers, it's up to the band whether they want to change or not...
All I have to say is, all the best in whatever they do, take this result as a lesson, make sure that it won't happen again...
I'm not being sarcastic here, I was once from this band, I still have that feeling...
Of course, I still want the band to shine out to the other bands that they are better than the rest...
Make the directors proud, make the teachers proud, make the seniors proud, most importantly, make themselves proud...
Anyway, all the best CSS Band, that faith and confidence in you all, is still in my heart, I believe that this band will shine out one day...
ONE BAND, ONE SOUND, ONE SPIRIT!!!
Got to go le...bye...
