I sure we are all aware by the astounding news that was reported just yesterday...

Earthquake in Chile

An 8.8-magnitude earthquake rocked the coastal nation of Chile on Saturday, killing a reported 147 people in the process and setting off a rolling tsunami in the pacific ocean.

The quake, which struck the nation slightly after 3:30 a.m., was concentrated about 70 miles from the Chilean city of Concepcion. According to Reuters, the earthquake massively affected the city, overturning cars and collapsing phone and electrical lines. A 15-story building reportedly collapsed as well.

Santiago, the capital of Chile, was about 200 miles from the earthquake’s epicenter and was also affected substantially. According to Reuters, the country’s international airport, located in Santiago, was closed for 24 hours due to the affects of the quake.

Chilean President-elect Sebastian Pinera said in a statement that 147 deaths could be attributed to the effects of the earthquake so far. The current President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, expects that the number could rise substantially. However, one emergency worker told Reuters that the number of deaths is not likely to radically increase.

In addition to the damage that the earthquake caused in Chile, it also caused many pacific nations to post tsunami warnings. Reuters reported that Japan, Hawaii and coastal Russia were among those affected.

Many of the copper mines that Chile is well known for were closed due to the earthquake. However, no substantial damage to the mining operations was reported by any of mining companies.

President Obama contacted Bachelet shortly after the earthquake hit, offering aid and supplies to the affected nation.

Earthquake in Ryushu, Japan

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 struck the Ryushu Island, off the coast of Japan on Friday morning at 5:31am (20:31 UTC). A tsunami warning had been put in place. The precaution was cancelled later. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said there was no "destructive threat" from the tsunami. At its center, the depth of the earthquake had been measured at ten kilometers (6.2 miles).

At 5:57am local time (20:57 UTC), the Japan Meteorological Agency recorded a ten centimetre (four inch) tsunami Nanjou, Okinawa. Initially the agency had predicted that the depth of the tsunami would be three feet (one metre). There were no reports of damage, although, according to the Agency, "there may be slight sea level changes from now on."

The islands were advised to evacuate from the seashore were Okinawa Islands, Amami Islands and Tokara Islands. Ivan Brackin, a resident of Yoron Islands, described his experience of the earthquake. "I woke up to violent shudders that lasted about six seconds then a pause followed by a couple of sharp jumps," he stated. "Jumpers are the most dangerous so that sent me under the desk."

Haiti earthquake had already brought lots of damages...
Yet within 2 months, comes another one...
I was watching the news last night and I was totally surprised by this whole disaster...
There's even tsunamis' appearances in several countries...
Still that phrase: "We're very fortunate."
Just hope that day won't come...

Just got this information a while ago...

SINGAPORE : This month could turn out to be the driest February ever recorded in Singapore — if current conditions continue.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said that only 5.3mm of rainfall has been recorded so far, compared to 18.7mm in the same period last year.

NEA said February is traditionally one of the driest month in the year. And this year, the El Nino effect is making it worst.

National water agency PUB said the dry spell is also causing record water consumption. Some 590 Olympic—sized pools of water are being consumed daily on average, about 7 per cent more than last February.

PUB is advising households to practise good water—saving habits, such as taking shorter showers.

The dry spell has also seen an increase in the outbreak of grass, lallang and vegetation fires.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it has responded to 92 cases so far this month alone. It is appealing to the public to help minimise such fire occurrences.

Anyway, just had a Mahjong session with Mei Chen, Subrina & Zheng Bang...
It was really fun...
That was the very first time I've taught my friends how to play Taiwan Mahjong which was rather a tricky one...
I've just got myself to learn not long ago so there are lots of rules that I'm still not familiar with yet...
Somehow we wanted to plan a class dinner on the coming Monday night...
Seoul Garden at Takashimaya...
Before the girls, Irfan & Jian Long leave for China, I think it's best to have a so-called 'Final Reunion'...
Anyway, I've been attached to Borsh at Bishan as my attachment this coming Mid-March...
Got a briefing on the 9th March...
Till now, I have not been researching much about the company so I can say I'm rather nervous and excited about it?
Maybe...
Hope things work out well...

Phew...
Now exams are over...
Sure is relaxing now...
Just got another information concerning UK's current weather...

Every so often the usually mild and predictable climate in the UK is interrupted by a dose of atypically severe weather...

This winter could well prove to be the coldest since 1978...

Meteorologists have calculated that the provisional average temperature in England was just 2.4C - and that excludes the rest of the UK, including Scotland where the mercury fell below minus 20 degrees...

January has already been classed the eighth coldest on record for the UK and the worst since 1978...

While Britain is still a largely temperate country, occasionally it is hit by bursts of dramatic conditions such as this year's cold snap. These spells of unusual conditions can become imprinted on our collective long-term memories, lingering in our consciousness for decades...

During the days when I was still revising for my examinations, I edited a few stuffs at my links. I had put up a few weather report website so that people can go into it to check the current and future weather and temperature reading, be it local or oversea...

Anyway, tomorrow, I'll having a Mahjong session tomorrow with my friends... Hope it will be fun tomorrow!

I just had a short chat with one of my aunts, Sequeena and her boyfriend, Jimmy...
Got to know that Jimmy drop his University Education as he couldn't cope with it...
But somehow I got another advice from them...

Okay, firstly, I am struggling in my current course...
I was on the verge on dropping it...
Somehow, something just pulled me back...
Telling me that I should continue...
There has been many advices roaming through my ears and my mind...
What are my current goals now?

I'll continue my poly life in this diploma...
Firstly, I'll have to give up on my current interest temporary...
With whatever results I'll be getting...
I'll still try to apply for the University course that I desired for...
All the applications will be done before my NS starts...
Hope that a vacancy will be reserved...
And now here's a problem...
To continue with English or Chinese?
Japanese will have to continue...
It's the main language which I'm concerning now...

Well, it's true that I do have lots of interests...
Music, Vocal, Dance, Feng Shui, Geology, Languages...
My interests are very broad...
But somehow one of them will have to be my future career...
Well, obviously is languages...
Remember one of my post saying that one of my considerations of going to teach on Waseda Shibuya High School?
I maybe trying to move towards that line and see...
I am very concern about the future...
Very future that I'm thinking...
Always stops at 2012...
Somehow, always in my mind, this prediction might going to be true and I'm just afraid of this world's future...
It just so scary to keep thinking about it and afraid that it will ruin all our lives...
I just couldn't imagine how the future will be...
I am really, really hoping that this prediction is not going to be true and we can all live in peace...

I'll be shifting to Khatib(Yishun) soon this week...
Latest this Thursday, my parents will be getting the keys...
Then, we'll be shifting from there...
I just wish I can move out of Simei asap...
By the time when Spring arrives, my new home should be really by then...
I am so anticipated about going to my grandaunt's new house...

Weather has been normal throughout the whole world...
The snow should have been cleared by long, long time ago...
Spring is on its way and I believe that the weather will be a lot better...
Just this morning, as I was on my way to school...
My usual routine is that I'll take the train to Pasir Ris and go back to Clementi...
This was the first time I've ever seen the full moon still hang itself up in the clear blue sky...
The scene was so beautiful...
Probably for the time being, weather will be perfect until further notice...
